Job Description: Heat and Hydration Consultant Job Description: About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Heat and Hydration Consultant to join our team. This role involves visiting field sites to coach and advise on safe hydration and heat protocols, ensuring the well-being of all personnel working in high-temperature and or high humidity environments. Key Responsibilities: * Site Visits: Conduct regular visits to field sites to assess environmental conditions and hydration needs. This includes, Metro Phoenix, Casa Grande, Yuma, Douglas, Palo Verde. * Training & Coaching: Provide training sessions and one-on-one coaching to staff on effective hydration practices, emergency hydration and heat management. * Protocol Development: Develop and implement comprehensive heat and hydration protocols and interventions tailored to specific site conditions. * Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor adherence to protocols and report on hydration and heat-related incidents. * Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments to identify potential heat-related hazards and recommend preventive measures. * Emergency Response: Advise on emergency procedures for heat-related illnesses and dehydration. * Educational Materials: Create and distribute educational materials on hydration and heat safety. * Collaboration: Work closely with management, foreman, Safety and health teams to ensure integrated safety practices. Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational health, Wellness or Wellbeing, Environmental Science, or related field. * Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in high-temperature environments. * Certifications: Relevant certifications or experience in heat stress management and hydration safety are preferred. * Skills: Strong communication and training skills, ability to work independently, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Good ability to communicate with all levels of employees. *Skills* Microsoft office, heat and hyrdration consultant, utilities safety consultnat *Top Skills Details* Microsoft office *Additional Skills & Qualifications* oTravel will be statewide (within AZ), 3-4 days per week *Typically to DV, CHQ, HubWest, other docks, generation plants, and job sites. *May potentially need to do overnight stay for travel once a month oContractor will need to drive their personal vehicle oContractor will be paid per diem at GSA rates for travel outside of 50 miles from CHQ (400 N 5th St. Phoenix, AZ 85004) *Experience/Background: oNice to have: A safety certification or health certification of some kind with experience. *Safety Training Certification, Construction and Health Certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) oMust have health and/or safety background as this role requires some knowledge of hazard/risk assessment, presentation skills, knowledge of heat exposure risks, etc. oUtility or construction field based experience would be a nice to have for this role. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
