Reports to:VP of Sales Engineering & Partnerships

What You'll Do

In this role, you will own our pre-sales technical strategy and be accountable for the SE team's contribution to pipeline generation, deal velocity, and revenue growth. You will:



  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain a world-class Sales Engineering team across SMB, Mid-Market, and Enterprise segments
  • Set the strategic direction for how we engage customers technically - from discovery and demo through proof-of-concept and handoff to Implementation
  • Personally engage on strategic and high-value deals, leading executive-level technical presentations, solution design sessions, and competitive displacement
  • Define and own the end-to-end pre-sales process: discovery frameworks, demo methodology, proof-of-concept standards, and technical win criteria
  • Build and maintain reusable demo environments, technical playbooks, and ROI/value frameworks that enable the team to operate at scale
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure our solutions consistently win in the market
  • Act as the primary liaison between the field and Product/Engineering, channeling customer feedback and competitive intelligence into actionable roadmap input
  • Track and report on SE team metrics - win rates, demo-to-close ratios, time-to-technical-win, customer satisfaction - and use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage SE team capacity planning, territory/account alignment, budget, and tooling strategy


What You Bring

You'll succeed in this role if you have:



  • 8+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Pre-Sales, with at least 3-5 years in a people-leadership role managing and developing SE teams
  • A proven track record of building and scaling Sales Engineering teams in a SaaS environment, including pre-sales processes, methodologies, and tooling that improve win rates and deal velocity
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead C-level technical conversations and navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Deep understanding of SaaS concepts, architectures, APIs, integrations, and modern technology stacks
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • A data-driven mindset with experience defining and tracking SE performance metrics
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success


Bonus Points For

  • Background in the Associations industry
  • Technical expertise in Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Track record of thought leadership - conference speaking, published content, or community engagement
  • Experience evaluating and implementing sales engineering tools (demo platforms, RFP automation, knowledge management)
