OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is a nationally recognized, multi-discipline engineering and design firm and an ENR Top 100 Design Firm. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support laboratory and facility design projects within our Life Sciences business unit in Greenwood Village, CO. This role supports all phases of electrical engineering design, from concept through construction, for complex laboratory and facility projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across disciplines and engage with clients to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design electrical systems for laboratory and facility projects (power distribution, lighting, emergency/UPS, fire alarm, telecommunications, and security systems)
- Prepare construction documents, calculations, reports, and specifications
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project scope, schedule, and budget
- Support construction administration efforts, including submittal review, RFIs, and coordination with contractors
- Participate in client meetings and occasional site visits
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Minimum four (4) years of electrical design experience, preferably in A/E consulting
- Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, IEEE)
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- The client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is desired, or the ability to obtain a license within one (1) year.
- Experience with laboratory or federal clients (e.g., USDA, ARS, CDC)
- RCDD certification
- Experience with electrical analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, AGi32, or similar
