Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator / Release Manager to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for managing system environments, supporting infrastructure operations, and leading release management activities to ensure reliable and secure deployment of mission-critical transportation and logistics systems.

The Senior Systems Administrator / Release Manager will oversee system administration across development, test, and production environments while coordinating software releases, deployments, and configuration changes. This role ensures system stability, operational readiness, and alignment with program schedules and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Linux system administration, release management processes, and environment coordination within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Administer and maintain Linux-based systems (RHEL or similar) across development, test, and production environments
  • Manage and coordinate software releases and deployments, ensuring alignment with program schedules and change control processes
  • Develop and maintain release management processes, including planning, scheduling, and execution of releases
  • Coordinate with development, QA, and DevSecOps teams to ensure successful deployment of applications and updates
  • Maintain system configurations, ensuring consistency across environments
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security, and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Support implementation of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes
  • Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements, including STIGs and RMF controls
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities
  • Maintain release documentation, deployment procedures, and configuration records
  • Support troubleshooting of system and deployment issues across environments
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Participate in Change Control Board (CCB) activities and support configuration management processes
  • Provide after-hours support for production releases and system issues as needed
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to ensure system integrity and compliance


Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of experience in system administration and/or release management
  • Strong experience with Linux system administration (RHEL preferred)
  • Experience managing software releases and deployment processes in enterprise environments
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of system configuration management and environment coordination
  • Experience with patching, system monitoring, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with DoD security requirements, including STIGs and RMF
  • Ability to troubleshoot system and deployment issues across environments
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD transportation/logistics systems
  • Experience working in AWS or cloud-based environments (GovCloud preferred)
  • Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps environments and Agile development teams
  • Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience participating in configuration management and CCB processes
