Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Software Development Lead to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role provides technical leadership and oversight of software development activities, ensuring delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure solutions that support mission-critical transportation and logistics operations.

The Software Development Lead is responsible for guiding development teams through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring alignment with program requirements, architectural standards, and DevSecOps practices. This role works closely with program leadership, architects, and Government stakeholders to drive successful delivery and continuous improvement of IBS applications.

The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to balance hands-on development with team oversight in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Lead and manage software development activities across the IBS program
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to development teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and architecture guidelines
  • Oversee design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions
  • Translate functional and business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
  • Conduct and enforce code reviews, ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability
  • Ensure alignment with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure coding
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex application and integration issues
  • Guide development of scalable, modular, and maintainable architectures
  • Collaborate with Cloud, Systems, and IA teams to ensure secure and compliant application delivery
  • Participate in and lead Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Support release planning and coordinate with Release Management for deployments
  • Maintain and contribute to technical documentation, including design artifacts and system diagrams
  • Provide input to program leadership on technical risks, performance, and improvement opportunities
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level developers


Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in software development, including team leadership experience
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, or similar)
  • Experience leading development teams in Agile environments
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system integration
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing development standards
  • Experience working with relational databases and backend systems
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD transportation/logistics systems
  • Experience with cloud-based development (AWS GovCloud preferred)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with microservices architectures
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and application security tools
  • Experience with tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, and Confluence
