As part of the GTE Financial team, the Bank@Work Intern will support strategic initiatives focused on developing financial wellness and literacy curriculum for business owners and youth/young adult audiences. The intern will build structured education frameworks and enhance delivery through interactive tools, activities, and gamified learning elements that make financial education engaging and memorable.

In addition to curriculum and engagement design, the intern will help streamline Bank@Work processes and strengthen program outcomes by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, enhance conversion strategies, drive new memberships, and increase measurable results from partner and community initiatives.

This role provides hands-on experience in curriculum development, engagement strategy, and process optimization, while collaborating with leadership, engage with other business groups, and subject matter experts to design educational experiences and call-to-action strategies that drive real impact.

We are seeking someone who is creative, strategic and entrepreneurial- an individual who enjoys learning complex topics, organizing information clearly, and delivering it in a way that inspires action.

What does GTE look for in a Bank@Work Intern?

One of the primary purposes of the Bank@Work internship is to provide a meaningful, educational experience that blends financial literacy education, presentation development, strategic thinking, and process improvement. The intern role is limited to the internship program terms only.

We are seeking an individual who is:

  • Creative in developing interactive, engaging learning experiences
  • Strategic in evaluating processes and identifying opportunities to improve ROI and impact
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multi-step projects

What You'll Learn:

  • Curriculum Development & Presentation Design: Research partner and community needs, collaborate with subject matter experts, and build structured financial literacy workshops, presentation decks, and supporting materials in Canva and PowerPoint.
  • Presentation & Teaching Skills: Translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging content and gain experience presenting in professional and community settings.
  • Youth Engagement & Gamification: Design interactive activities, tools, and gamified learning elements that increase engagement, retention, and participation in youth workshops.
  • Strategic Process & Conversion Optimization: Analyze and improve call-to-action models, support workflow enhancements, and learn how tracking tools (including Salesforce) drive measurable results.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Business Banking, and Community Financial Centers to align messaging and support enterprise-wide growth initiatives.

Program Highlights:

  • Full-time hours, up to 40 per week, with the expectation that this internship will be your main focus.
  • Lead development of education materials that may be implemented across the credit union.
  • Gain exposure to executive-level reporting and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to scalable frameworks that directly impact membership growth and community engagement.

Experience:

  • Interest in developing presentations using tools such as PowerPoint or Canva.
  • Curiosity and willingness to research topics and help translate ideas into clear, engaging content.
  • Creative thinking and enthusiasm for designing interactive or gamified learning experiences.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Organized and able to manage tasks and timelines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Professional and positive attitude when representing GTE Financial.

Operational:

Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of foundational financial literacy topics including the basics of banking, understanding credit, and basics of borrowing. the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Enrolled in an accredited University
  • Must submit a cover letter, resume, and transcripts, and provide three references
  • Demonstration of extra-curricular and community service activities

Required for Remote Work:

  • A quiet workplace so you can focus on delivering excellent service to our members
  • Some positions will require performance standards to be met to qualify for alternative work arrangements
  • Required to have power and high-speed internet over 100MB (minimum)
  • Video capability (connection of 1.5 Mbps up and down recommended)
  • Candidates must provide and meet all technical requirements prior to the first day of training
  • Hybrid candidates must live within driving distance of the office location and be able to regularly commute to and from the office location as needed.
  • Remote candidates must be able to attend on-premises meetings as required and/or requested

Position Details:

  • Location: Downtown Tampa - GTE Headquarters
  • Department Hours: Monday- Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.

  • Hybrid Requirements: Minimum of 2 days a week in office
