Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Engineer.

The Research Engineer will help develop technologies and products for the Engineering team, and will be a full participant in the design and execution of various experiments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Research Study Development and Planning. Assist in building software and hardware for research studies. Develops data collection tools and programs to be used for analysis. Works with the team to design and execute experiments.
• Reporting and Analysis. Research, compile and consolidate data. Conduct preliminary analysis. Create reports to all necessary parties (PI, sponsoring agency, etc.) on any modifications to the engineering design of programs. Formulates, prepares database and generates preliminary measurement reports.
• Human Subjects Research. Ensures research-related computer programs and data collection tools are maintained in accordance with HIPAA and NYU IRB policies. Maintains confidentiality of electronic subject data.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Work as a functional member of the research team and Department.. Attend staff meetings as requested.
• Maintain professional demeanor at all times with physicians, co-workers and patients.
• Responsible for any other duties as stipulated by an Executive Leadership member of the Department, including but not limited to the Department Chairman or the Department Administrator.
• Ensure service excellence by becoming familiar with the seven principles of behavior and putting them into practice in carrying out job responsibilities.
• HIPAA Conform to all applicable HIPAA compliance and safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required. Advanced graduate degree in electrical or biomedical engineering. Advanced quantitative and engineering background Programming skills. Design skills at the circuit or systems level. Two-Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Ability to meet deadlines.Strong organizational skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to work independently and takes initiative to assist in improving overall office operations. Strong interpersonal skills. Computer experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, and outlook e-mail..

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $46.47 - $49.45 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
