Position Title: DevOps Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong Ansible expertise to support mission-critical systems within U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) environments. The ideal candidate will have experience automating infrastructure, maintaining secure environments, and working within regulated government networks.
You will collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to build automated infrastructure solutions that meet DoD security, compliance, and operational standards.
Job Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles to automate system provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment
* Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices across development, test, and production environments
* Automate build, deployment, and patching processes for Linux-based infrastructure
* Integrate Ansible workflows with CI/CD pipelines
* Support system hardening in accordance with DISA STIGs and DoD security requirements
* Maintain and improve configuration management across classified and unclassified environments
* Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with RMF / NIST standards
* Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure automation issues
Required Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience with Ansible automation
* Experience supporting DoD, federal government, or defense contractor environments
* Strong Linux system administration background (RHEL/CentOS/AlmaLinux)
* Experience writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, and inventories
* Familiarity with Git-based workflows
* Understanding of networking, security controls, and system hardening
Security+ or other DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification

Preferred Qualifications
* Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
* Experience with Ansible Tower / AWX / Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
* Knowledge of DISA STIG compliance and system accreditation processes
* Experience with containerization (Docker/Podman/Kubernetes)
* Experience with Terraform or other IaC tools
* Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
