Torch Technologies is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and innovative Database Design Admin 1 to join our team in the support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) team. This role involves developing and maintaining advanced software tools aimed at enhancing analysis, productivity, and data management. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize solutions that drive operational efficiency and improve user experience. In this role, the Software Engineer will leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance software development efficiency and quality.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer with experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power BI, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tools and scripts to automate data management processes, improve workflow efficiency, and support internal operations.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with experience in scripting, APIs, and integrating systems. You will play a key role in enhancing internal platforms and ensuring accurate, efficient handling of data across systems.

As a Database Design Admin your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement tools and scripts in ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint to automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting tasks.
  • Customize ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence workflows, templates, and macros to support business processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Monitor and improve performance of automation tools and address issues proactively.
  • Write clear, maintainable code and documentation.
  • Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance in all automated processes.
  • Develop, test, and deploy software solutions while leveraging AI for code suggestions and optimizations.
  • Automate repetitive development tasks using AI-driven coding assistants.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to improve process workflows.
  • Develop user interfaces in ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint with a focus on usability and user experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.
  • Participates in and presents findings at working group meetings, coordination meetings, peer reviews, and other technical interchange meetings.
  • Design, develop, and build functional SharePoint sites that are easy to use and user friendly by collaborating with staff on layout, design, build, and implementation.
  • Update site content to keep pages up to date as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement software solutions that support MDA initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Active secret security clearance.
  • Good understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experienced with Systems Engineering Process; collecting and developing requirements to ensure collaborative activity, permissions, workflows, and site configurations are implemented cohesively within the software development environment.
  • Ability to work in an agile development environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to experiment with AI-driven development.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years applicable software development experience.
  • Experience in user interface design and process workflow design.
  • Experience developing process automation tools in ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with data visualization using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience developing software requirements.
  • Experience working on DoD software programs or government contracts.
  • Experience with programming languages and frameworks including JSON, HTML, Java, JavaScript, CSS, GIT lab, Power Automate, PowerBI, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT.
