Quality Specialist (Electro-Optical Testing)

Location: Newington, NH

Salary: Up to $60,000 annually

Job Type: Direct Hire

Schedule: Rotating 12-hour night shifts

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to perform electro-optical testing and quality inspections on fiber optic cables and systems during the manufacturing process. This role ensures products meet internal quality standards and contractual specifications while supporting production, quality assurance, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and experience working with electrical or electronic testing environments.

Responsibilities



  • Perform fiber optic cable characterization testing including OTDR, Chromatic Dispersion, Polarization Mode Dispersion, and electrical testing (High Voltage, IR, and DCR)
  • Analyze test results and verify compliance with product specifications and quality standards
  • Prepare cable ends using hand tools and power tools for testing procedures
  • Generate quality and failure reports to document non-compliance issues
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality teams, and customer representatives
  • Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and high-voltage safety protocols
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and process improvements
  • Manage multiple production assignments and testing priorities efficiently
  • Maintain accurate documentation and test records



Requirements



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics or at least 2 years of related experience preferred
  • Experience with electrical testing, fiber optics, or manufacturing quality control preferred
  • Strong math skills including ratios, percentages, and measurement conversions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Must pass a job-related aptitude test with a score of 70 or higher
  • Electrical background and high-voltage testing experience a plus
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour night shifts
