IPS is currently seeking a Technical Training Specialist - Power Systems to be a part of our team! The Technical Training Specialist - Power Systems is responsible for developing and delivering technical training programs that support IPS service center teams, field service technicians, and sales professionals. This role focuses on building technical knowledge across power systems, including generators, electric motors, electrical distribution equipment, and power management solutions. Working closely with engineering, operations, and service center leadership, the Technical Training Specialist ensures employees have the skills and technical understanding needed to safely diagnose, repair, maintain, and support customer power infrastructure. This position plays a key role in supporting IPS's mission to improve the reliability, efficiency, and performance of critical electrical and mechanical systems. Responsibilities & Expectations: Technical Training Development * Develop and maintain training programs focused on power systems and industrial electrical equipment. * Design technical training materials, including presentations, manuals, procedures, and digital learning modules. * Translate complex electrical and mechanical concepts into practical, hands-on training for technicians and engineers. * Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics. * Update training programs to reflect evolving technologies, industry standards, and IPS service offerings. * Maintain a centralized library of technical training resources and documentation. Training Delivery * Deliver instructor-led and hands-on training sessions for service center personnel, field service technicians, and other technical staff. * Conduct workshops and training sessions related to: * Power generation systems * Generator repair and maintenance * Electric motors and rotating equipment * Electrical distribution systems * Power management and reliability solutions * Train sales teams and technical personnel on how to position IPS services and communicate customer value. * Develop commercial training programs covering: * Solution selling for industrial services * Customer needs assessment and problem diagnosis * Value-based selling and service differentiation * Industry applications and customer use cases * Support onboarding and certification programs for technical employees. Field and Technical Support * Partner with field service teams to identify skill gaps and training needs. * Provide technical guidance on best practices related to equipment diagnostics, repair methods, and system reliability. * Support troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and technical problem-solving initiatives. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Work closely with engineering, service center operations, and safety teams to ensure training aligns with IPS technical standards and procedures. * Support the rollout of new service capabilities, technologies, and repair methods. * Assist in developing standardized training materials across IPS locations. Qualifications and Competencies: * Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Education, Marketing, or related field preferred. * Degree equivalency: 4 years + job-related work experience or an Associate's and 2 years job-related work experience * 3 + years of experience in power systems, electrical equipment services, or industrial maintenance. * Experience working with equipment such as: * Generators * Electric motors * Switchgear and electrical distribution systems * Power management systems * Previous experience delivering technical training or mentoring technicians preferred Skills * Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and power infrastructure. * Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to technicians and engineers. * Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. * Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic knowledge related to electrical equipment. * Familiarity with training tools, learning management systems (LMS), and technical documentation development.
