Position Title: Set Up Technician
Wage: $21-$33/hour Shift: 3rd Hours: 11:30pm-7:30am QPS Employment Group is hiring a Set Up Technician for a company in Sussex, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Set Up Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up molds; install knockout pins in the mold; mount, align, and connect plastic molding dies on press platens; ensure that the machine's safety features (e.g., drop bar, safety gates) are properly set - Set machine controls to regulate clamping pressure and speeds; set control for injection speeds and pressures; set all machines' timers (e.g., curing time, boosttime, hold time and open time) to obtain the proper cycles; record all troubleshooting adjustments on the Supervisors Checklist - Clean the entire machine and wash the floor around the machine; all work areas must be kept clean and safe - Cycles-in machine; examine the sample parts for defects, such as flash, sinks, shorts, splay, cracks and closed holes, proper inserts, and codes, and adjusts machine set up to eliminate defects - Arrange work area and assist in the set-up of auxiliary equipment as required - Instruct operators on operating procedures and safety hazards as they pertain to each job after it is set up - Troubleshoot operating difficulties by referring to the company troubleshooting guidelines; adjust equipment and machine cycles as necessary to correct molding problems such as shorts, flash, etc. - Twice during the shift, verify that we are free of nozzle leaks; process windows are completed, and parameters are within the stated parameters and Cycle time is matched to the BOM - At completion of run, remove mold from press; spray mold with rust preventative, disconnect water lines and blows water out of mold - Store mold in designated storage space; tag mold with any needed mold repair - Follows environmental policies to protect and minimize our impact on the environment - Maintain a safe 5S working environment to minimize the possibility of an injury; act in a safe manner always and ensure that those around them do not put themselves or others at risk; report any unsafe conditions to a manager - Perform other related duties and assignments as assigned or required Set Up Technician Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred - Minimum 3 years of set-up experience in plastic injection molding - Basic computer skills including IQMS systems - Use good interpersonal communication techniques to work with subordinates and/or coworkers; courteous and helpful when interacting with fellow employees; help to create a positive work environment - Must have good documentation skills - Strong material knowledge - Demonstrated machine knowledge - Strong processing knowledge - Advanced set-up knowledge - Critical thinking skills - Ability to gather data and think creatively - Good attendance - Ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
