We are presently seeking aManager, Trade Compliance,who will work out of our corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. and is committed to ensuring overall business success and corporate governance. We excel at delivering innovative and customized components, sub-assemblies and fully integrated photonic systems to meet the unique illumination, optronic, sensing and optical technology needs of global OEM customers.

The Manager, Trade Compliance - North America will partner with the Director, Trade Compliance - North America in the administration of compliance programs for import and export activities across North America. This role ensures adherence to U.S., Canadian, and Mexican trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and customs requirements. The position serves as the subject matter expert for international trade laws, manages risk mitigation strategies, and partners with cross-functional teams to maintain robust compliance processes.

Main responsibilities:



  • Interpret and apply U.S. and international trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, Customs, sanctions, and embargoes); ensure compliance with tariff classification, country of origin determination, and export control classification numbers;
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures for North America;
  • Assist in denied party screening, export licensing, and import/export documentation;
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and stakeholders;
  • Continually assess regulations and apply them to our business, including an ongoing assessment of risk;
  • Assist in internal audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions;
  • Participate in interactions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Departments of State and Commerce, and other regulatory agencies;
  • Partner with broader Legal team, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure compliance in daily operations.



Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree required;
  • 8+ years relevant export control or trade compliance role in a manufacturing or service business;
  • Detailed knowledge of US export control, sanctions and boycott regulations;
  • Strong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and other relevant compliance regulations;
  • Demonstrated success in creating, implementing, managing, and improving Trade Compliance programs;
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of cross-function and geography collaboration;
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills as part of a team;
  • U.S. Citizenship is required;
  • Applicant must be eligible for security clearance.
