The Department of Ophthalmology comprises 40 faculty physicians and scientists, 12 resident physicians, 13 (including clinical and research) post-doctoral physicians and scientists, and over 150 staff with six divisions: Glaucoma, Retina, Cornea & Refractive Surgery, Pediatrics, Oculoplastic, and Neuro-ophthalmology. In addition, clinical services are provided at the Shiley Eye Center, Ratner Eye Center, UCSD Health Sciences (UCSDHS), Hillcrest ambulatory center, and the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital. The Department of Ophthalmology has the largest single outpatient clinic at the University of California, San Diego, with over 110,000 visits annually. Additionally, over 5400 surgical cases are performed. The Department of Ophthalmology is rapidly growing and looking to expand its practice at the Shiley Eye Center and in regional satellites, including the possible acquisition of existing practices. Under supervision, the Clinical Financial Analyst 2 supports the management and monitoring of departmental finances within the Viterbi Family Department of Ophthalmology and Community Ophthalmology. This position will assist in managing department financial transactions and prepare internal reports for various clinical programs. Conduct financial analyses and prepare reports for clinical leadership. Monitor departmental financial performance by assessing program and division profitability. Provide data-driven recommendations to support decision-making. Other duties as assigned. Uses professional concepts. Applies organizational policies and procedures to resolve various issues. Works on problems of limited to moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Contacts are primarily internal to the department, but may also be external. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $73,205 - $106,634 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $35.06 - $51.07 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
