Position Summary The Finance Department at UIC's College of Business Administration is looking for up to two non-tenure system adjunct faculty members who could develop and teach the following two undergraduate courses: Property and Casualty Insurance, to be tentatively first taught during the Fall 2026 semester, Insurance Company Operations, to be tentatively first taught during the Spring 2027 semester. Adjunct faculty positions are typically part-time positions that are compatible with other full-time work. Going forward, we expect to offer these courses at least once each academic year, so the position is expected to have continuity beyond the 2026-2027 academic year. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and teach one (or both) of the following two courses: Property and Casualty Insurance. Insurance Company Operations. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications A master's (or PhD) degree in risk management and insurance or a closely related field such as Business, Finance, Economics from an AACSB-accredited institution Demonstrated knowledge of risk management and insurance principles appropriate for undergraduate instruction Ability to teach undergraduate-level courses and to assess student learning outcomes in accordance with university and departmental standards Preferred Qualifications Significant professional experience (5+ years) in risk management, insurance, or a closely related field Professional designations in risk management and insurance Prior college-level teaching experience The University of Illinois System is an equal opportunity employer, including but not limited to disability and/or veteran status, and complies with all applicable state and federal employment mandates.
