Scope of work

The Fitness Specialist provides exceptional customer service across the welcome center, cafe, fitness floor, and locker rooms by responding promptly to member needs and supporting membership retention. This role handles checkins, pointofsale transactions, class registration, locker rentals, and full cafe operations including food and beverage prep, service, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. The coordinator assists the fitness team by addressing basic exerciserelated questions, conducts regular locker room and facility rounds to ensure cleanliness and safety, restocks supplies, and performs laundry duties. Additional responsibilities include giving facility tours, supporting membership enrollment, ensuring accurate data entry, following opening and closing procedures, reporting issues to the appropriate team, and completing all required training to maintain operational competency.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required within 60 days of hire)

  • 6 months of customer service experience in a highvolume service industry

Preferred

  • Experience with cash handling, accounting, and data entry systems

  • Experience or familiarity with the fitness or wellness industry
