As the Financial Analyst for Resale & Merchandising, you will provide financial and control expertise to the Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) division in our Byhalia, MS distribution center. You will perform benchmarking KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) while working with other finance professionals to understand the drivers of financial performance, identifying trends relevant to the business.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Business Unit Controller, you will be a part of the ELIP Finance/Accounting team supporting primarily the Byhalia, MS site. You will be responsible for performing support activities within General Accounting, Financial Analysis, Reporting & Consolidation in line with defined strategies, policies, and procedures.

Candidates for this position must be able to work on onsite schedule out of the Byhalia, MS Distribution Center (#LI-Onsite).

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Ensuring timely and efficient communication with controllers and the Finance/Accounting team to identify and discuss issues and suggestions for improvement.

  • Month-end activities to include (but not limited to): account analysis, account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, inventory analysis, balance sheet reconciliations. Additional responsibilities will revolve around Cost Accounting and establishing products in ABB's ERP systems.

  • Helping to prepare and present financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting documents. Additionally - Financial compliance reporting to include monthly, quarterly and annual reviews.

  • Maintaining audit trails and documentation for future audits and reviews, communicating information to relevant stakeholder groups to support corrective action plans, and optimizing performance to increase productivity by developing automated solutions, eliminating duplication, and coordinating information requirements.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial analyst role

  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including SAP, ERP or related financial systems

  • Cost accounting experience strongly preferred

  • Previous hand's on experience with standard cost of products, basics of material costs and overhead, balance sheets, etc.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office products

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Requires English language skill(s) and proficiency

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
