Summary

3D Designer

Position Summary:

The role of a 3D Designer focuses on creating and rendering visually captivating displays, environments and product images for retail spaces and ad placements to attract customers, engage their interest, and influence their buying decisions. This is achieved through creative collaboration on strategically designed displays, product placement, and graphics using 3D and 2D software. 3D Designers collaborate internally with Marketing, Project Management, Creative and Studio, to align display concepts and product and lifestyle images with marketing strategies, retailer requirements, and campaigns.

Essential Responsibilities:

    Develop compelling 3D models, renderings, and visual assets.
  • Apply visual design principles to create engaging displays.
  • Integrate 3D elements into retail environments.
  • Manage multiple deadlines with clear communication.
  • Collaborate across Creative and account teams.
  • Select materials, textures, and visual content for designs.
  • Curate stock and custom imagery for campaigns.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with printing processes; corrugated/POP familiarity preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Remote role; primarily computer-based.
  • Minimal travel required.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design Approach: Develop experiential layouts that demonstrate spatial flow, shopper journey, engagement zones, materials, and storytelling intent to support sell in presentations and concept approvals.
  • 3D Visualization: Creating 3D models and renderings to provide clients and stakeholders with a realistic preview. Integrating 3D elements seamlessly into physical store layouts for a more immersive experience.
  • Time Management: Manage multiple priorities on a daily basis. Communicate clearly regarding workload and deliverables to meet client deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Working with Creative and account partners to understand and provide solutions that bring 3D concepts and images to life. Utilize concepts and brand guides to ensure renders are on brand and accomplishing tasks as set in brief. Take direction and continuously optimize to see each job through from concept to completion.
  • Knowledge of Materials and Textures: Selecting and sourcing materials that align with the display concept and brand image. Exploring innovative materials and textures to add tactile elements to displays and retail environments.
  • Stock Photography and Visual Content Curation: Curating a library of high-quality visual content, including stock photography, illustrations, and graphics, for display use. Integrating curated visual content into displays to add depth and context to the design. Collaborating with creative to produce custom visual content for specific campaigns.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4 - 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with printing processes. Familiarity in the corrugated industry, including displays, graphics, and point-of-purchase (POP) materials, is a plus.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling Software (Cinema 4D), Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Asana, Microsoft Suite. Video editing and motion graphics experience, a plus.
  • Highly Valued / Nice-to-Have Skills: Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro, Prompt creation for AI image models Midjourney/Google Gemini (nano banana), Familiarity with AI 3D tools like 3DAI Studio, Meshy, or Tripo 3D.
  • Curiosity for new tools and processes that can enhance the work. Create 3D models for our growing library to be used across the broader team.
  • Well Organized, Detail Oriented, & able to Handle Fast Paced Work Environment.
  • Process-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, technical proficiency, problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently or in team settings.

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
