Summary of Position

The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for supporting and administering the company's payroll process to ensure accurate, timely and compliant compensation for all employees. The role is responsible for auditing payroll data, maintaining adherence to federal and state wage and hour laws, executing Company policies and procedures including but not limited to benefits administration, internal communication, audit compliance, events, employee engagement, and training. The Payroll Supervisor serves as a key resource for managers and employees, providing guidance, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring payroll systems and procedures operate efficiently.



Key Job Elements



  • Provides leadership, supervision and task delegation for two staff members.
  • Enforce company-wide policies and rules.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Audit payroll information to ensure accuracy and compliance with Company Policy, Federal and State wage and hours laws.
  • Oversee payroll systems such that all employees are paid for hours reported and applicable statutes and regulations are fully complied with.
  • Research payroll topics and prepare ad hoc reports, as needed.
  • Respond to manager and employee payroll inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Resolve past payroll discrepancies when needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Processes payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Works closely with Human Resources department to communicate when time off requests, punch change requests, timecards, or PAFs need revision and/or approval.
  • Assist in the Calculation of final check for terminated employees in accordance with State Laws.
  • Reconciliation of Benefit Deduction for all Payrolls processed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or related field of studies, OR certificate in Human Resource Management required.
  • 3-5 years of Payroll and/or HR administration experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of basic Labor Regulations, HIPAA compliance requirements, and Wage & Hour law.
  • Experienced user of HRIS and Payroll systems (Paycom preferred).



Additional Skills



  • Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & etc.
  • Typing ability (50+wpm preferred).
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal or no supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to handle and resolve minor recurring problems.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new information and knowledge.
  • Ability to find and use resources effectively.
