Role:

To maintain the bank's accounting records and reports, ensuring they are in compliance with generally accepted accounting practices and banking accounting practices.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

35%

Accounting for prepaids and accruals, fixed assets, and preparing general ledger journal entries.

Reconciles various balance sheet and internal DDA accounts, which includes researching and resolving differences within the bank policy's prescribed time period.

E 15% Interacts and assists with shareholders and shareholders requests.

Assists and backs up accounts payable, in addition to provide support to the Controller with accounting department projects.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1.

To comply with the letter and with the spirit of the bank's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

2.

To maintain the confidentiality of customer and any other sensitive information.

3.

To maintain all assigned accounts such that they are always in balance and current.

4.

To produce all management reports within prescribed time frames and with zero errors.

5.

To perform all month-end activities, including balancing accounts within the prescribed time frame.

6.

To provide informed, professional assistance to others in the bank regarding accounting.

7.

To acquire and maintain a working knowledge of regulations and bank procedures; to comply with the provisions of the Bank Secrecy Act and other laws and regulations.

8.

To complete required training and undertake additional training as needed to increase job knowledge and maximize productivity.

9.

To develop and maintain a positive and productive working relationship with department/branch staff.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

One to three years of similar or related experience.

Education

(1) A bachelor's degree in accounting, or (2) an associate's degree in accounting plus relevant work experience.

Interpersonal Skills

Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (Customers or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills

Experience with automated data processing systems including PC software programs and mainframe systems with emphasis on Microsoft Office products.

Physical Requirements

The person in this position needs to frequently move about inside the office to interact with associates or vendors and access office machinery and file cabinets. The person in the position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and printer.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as calculators, computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines.
