As a Security Officer - Flex Office Tower Patrol in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a commercial real estate location, where you will help maintain a welcoming environment through visible rounds, access control support, and prompt reporting of security-related concerns. You will engage with tenants and visitors with strong customer service and clear communication while using basic technology for daily activity logs. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, tenants, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site management and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols and/or vehicle patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points such as lobbies, entrances, loading areas, and parking garage gates, verifying authorization and directing visitors according to site procedures.
  • Observe and report unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, lights out, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious behavior, and submit timely documentation per site requirements.
  • Complete routine administrative tasks including activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff notes using written and/or electronic reporting tools.
  • Assist with alarm activations and building system notifications by responding to the area, assessing visible conditions, and coordinating next steps with management and/or responders.
  • Support tenant and property management requests such as escorting vendors, providing directions, and documenting after-hours access in accordance with site policies.
  • Maintain a professional presence and appearance, communicating clearly with the public and coworkers while following Allied Universal and site-specific standards.
  • Participate in required trainings and briefings, and follow post orders, communications protocols, and escalation procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
