As a Security Guard - Armed Courthouse Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service with calm communication. You will support access control, document activity, and coordinate with site leadership and public partners. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and transit riders by following site-specific post orders, security-related procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Carry an approved duty weapon as assigned, follow all armed post requirements, and maintain required permits, qualifications, and requalification standards.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout government transportation facilities, including entrances, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter routes, as assigned by post orders.
- Monitor for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access, vandalism, and other prohibited behavior, and take appropriate action within scope of assignment.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disturbances, and alarms, and request additional assistance when needed.
- Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and other documentation using Allied Universal and site reporting procedures.
- Control access at designated points by verifying credentials, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and enforcing posted rules and regulations consistent with site policy.
- Use radios, phones, and/or other communications systems to coordinate with supervisors, dispatch, and local public agencies during routine operations and emergency events.
- Observe camera systems and conduct visual inspections to identify security-related concerns, then communicate findings to appropriate personnel.
- Support emergency operations by assisting with evacuations, establishing controlled areas, and providing direction to the public during service disruptions and other urgent events.
Minimum Requirements: - - Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
- - Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
- - Provide proof of high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
- - Be at least 21 years of age.
- - CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- - Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- - Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
