Job Description




As a Security Officer - Emergency Dept Rounds in Milton, MA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence, and respond to alarms and requests for assistance. You will support access control, help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with staff, patients, and visitors while documenting observations and reporting concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when appropriate and requesting additional support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout corridors, common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and help manage visitor flow by observing for unauthorized entry attempts, directing individuals to appropriate destinations, and communicating concerns to site leadership.
  • Assist with crowd control during high-traffic periods such as visiting hours, shift changes, and special events, while maintaining a professional, service-oriented presence.
  • Observe for and help to deter prohibited items and/or behaviors, reporting concerns promptly through established notification and escalation procedures.
  • Support patient privacy and facility policies by maintaining discretion, limiting the sharing of sensitive information, and documenting incidents using approved channels.
  • Complete shift activity logs and incident reports with clear, factual details, including times, locations, involved parties, and actions taken.
  • Coordinate with nursing staff, clinical teams, and local responders during emergencies, providing scene support, directions, and perimeter control as requested.
  • Operate security-related systems such as radios, phones, access control devices, and video monitoring tools in accordance with post orders and applicable policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have hospital vaccines.
  • Have hospital experience restraining individuals.
  • Prefer to be able to lift more than 20 lbs.
  • Prefer to be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
