Job Description




As a Security Officer - County Archive Desk in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will greet and assist visitors, communicate clearly with staff and responders, and document observations with professionalism. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site staff, patients, visitors, and the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the location by monitoring entry points, verifying identification and/or credentials, issuing visitor passes, and directing visitors to appropriate destinations per site policy.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other security-related systems to help identify unusual activity and support timely response.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership, local law enforcement, fire services, and/or emergency medical personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Complete detailed written reports and electronic logs for patrols, incidents, and daily activities, and provide clear verbal notifications during shift turnover.
  • Support crowd management and orderly movement in lobbies, waiting areas, and other high-traffic areas while maintaining professional communication and de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist with security-related screenings and property control measures when required by site policy, including checking packages, monitoring deliveries, and documenting found property.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow post orders and site protocols, and participate in required training, drills, and briefings. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
