As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, support visitor processing, and monitor alarms and cameras to help identify security-related concerns. You will document activity, communicate clearly with employees and contractors, and use a computer and/or tablet to complete reports. Guided by an agile, reliable, innovative team, you will put people first and act with integrity every shift.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access to the location by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining entry and exit logs, and directing visitors to proper check-in areas.
• Screen employees, contractors, vendors, and deliveries as required, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items.
• Monitor access points such as lobbies, gates, turnstiles, and loading areas, escalating concerns through established site procedures.
• Coordinate with site contacts regarding expected visitors, contractor access, and temporary access needs while maintaining confidentiality.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access violations, and disruptive behavior.
• Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control software, radios, and telephones, reporting malfunctions per site procedures.
• Support shipping and receiving operations by managing driver check-in, verifying delivery documentation as required, and directing vehicles to designated areas.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including interior and exterior areas, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift pass-downs with clear, accurate details per Allied Universal and site requirements.
• Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures as directed, including notifications, access control adjustments, and accounting for visitors when applicable.
• Maintain a professional presence, follow post orders, and work with site management and Allied Universal leadership to address security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
