Job Description




As a Security Officer - Government Patrol - Overnights in Kailua Kona, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government courthouse location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access control, and assist staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors at a government courthouse location by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and emergency response protocols when appropriate.
  • Perform unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of court facilities, public areas, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances, screening points, and controlled access areas, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and maintain visitor logs and incident documentation in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, request assistance from law enforcement and/or site leadership as needed, and provide clear directions to occupants during abnormal conditions.
  • Complete routine reports, incident reports, and shift activity logs, communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and/or client representatives, and support court operations by maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
