THOR Solutionsis actively seeking aStrategicSupport Specialisttocontribute to theNaval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) PacificStrategic TeaminSan Diego, CA.This individual willresearch, write about, and summarizetechnical strategic topics, as well ascontributeto thestrategic team's planning process and monthly meetings.This position interacts with and provides recommendations to senior government leadership at NIWC. An ideal candidate will have experience monitoring and writingonstrategic or technical topics, coordinatingevents, and working with senior government individuals in a Navy/DoD environment.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary support to the NIWC Strategic Team by fulfilling all tasks and duties asrequired.

  • Conduct research on trending political topics or policies and summarize findings to share on the NIWC Hub.Participate inplanning meetings to select topics. Provide feedback/review functions to other team members' writings.

  • Perform extensive research to support the Strategic Team with Environmental Scan (ES) projects.Present or answer questions related to ES topics.

  • Stay updated on the latestStrategicPlan released by the Navy andother military branches.

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and events includingagenda, room scheduling and prep, and slide and content prep.

  • Attendnumerousmeetings to support the Strategic Planning Meeting (SPM) teams.

  • Assistin building SPM presentations, conducting research, and communicating with SPM team members.

  • Participate in meetings withsenior NIWC governmentleadership.

  • Assist the Branch Head with planning and organizing theTeachBoardAnnual Conference.

Location:Full time onsiteat the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) in San Diego, CA. This position cannot be performed remotely/offsite.

Schedule:This position follows theCalifornia Alternate Work Week schedule. Mondays through Thursdays are 9hour days. Fridays alternate between8hourdaysor non-working days. In each two-week period, this totals80 hours.

Typical Physical Activity:Desk/computer work in an office environment. Mayinvolve:repetitive motion.

Typical Pay Range: Theanticipatedpay range for this position in the identified location(s) is$30.00-$32.00/hour. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.

Existing SECRET Security Clearance Required:This position requires an existing active orinterim Secretsecurity clearance prior tohire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position. An otherwise strongly qualified candidate with highly relevantexperiencebut no current security clearance may be considered.

TypicalKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree inarelevanttechnical or business discipline.

  • In lieu ofan appropriatedegree, other degrees,relevantprofessional certifications,and/oradditionalyears ofhighlyrelevant experience may be considered.

  • At leasttwo (2)years ofrecent,relevant professional experience withstrategic planning, writing, andcoordination.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with evolving responsibilities, changing priorities, andself scheduling.

  • Strongproficiencywith the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well asother common productivity software.

  • Strong communicationskills, including experience/comfort interacting with senior/executive-level active-duty military and civilian Government employees.

  • Effective organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ideal experience will have been obtained in a U.S. Navy, DOD, or other Federal environment.
