Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS), Threat Intelligence Engineering

Salesforce is deeply committed to trust and security, investing heavily in building a secure enterprise cloud platform. The Threat Intelligence Engineering (TI-Eng) team plays a crucial role in this mission by operationalizing threat intelligence and ensuring robust, secure, and efficient deployment processes for critical security platforms like OpenCTI, MISP, Yeti, and Vertex Synapse.

You will be expected to independently deliver high-quality features, drive your own designs, and take on features with greater complexity. You will be a recognized expert on the team, solving complex problems and implementing critical functionality. You will also provide technical coaching and mentorship to more junior team members.

  • Consistently provides input and challenges the state of product, process, quality and team direction
  • Provides oversight through code and design reviews for features delivered by other developers within their scrum team.
  • A subject matter expert who drives quality by surfacing areas of impact and risk
  • Verifies quality of the code delivered through manual and automated testing. Extends the automation framework where necessary.
  • Has excellent communication and documentation of projects, design, and execution plans.
  • Automates and streamlines the build, deployment, and monitoring of threat intelligence platforms and tools
  • Designs and implements scalable and reliable infrastructure to support the threat intelligence lifecycle.
  • Manages and maintains the operational health of containerized applications (e.g., Docker) and the underlying infrastructure (e.g., EC2 systems).
  • Maintains deep knowledge of container orchestration, including the process of converting container images for deployment within Kubernetes.
  • Designs, deploys, and maintains serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda) and platforms utilizing serverless or function-as-a-service technologies (e.g., Serverless.com, OpenFaaS, AWS Fargate).
  • Drives the adoption and migration to modern deployment tools, such as ArgoCD, to enhance CI/CD processes.
  • Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines for the automated testing and deployment of TI-Eng developed solutions.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves operational issues, ensuring high availability and performance of critical TI systems.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3-6 years of backend or platform engineering experience
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong backend development skills and microservice architecture experience (Python, AWS, Kubernetes)
  • Proficient with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), IAC (Terraform/Helm), and event-driven systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
  • Experience with production services, monitoring, alerting, and observability
  • Familiarity with threat data standards a plus
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and work cross-functionally with detection, IR, and platform teams
