Job Description




As a Security Officer - Logistics Gatehouse in Olive Branch, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will welcome drivers, employees, and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and help maintain smooth site flow. You will remain highly visible, conduct routine rounds, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Manage access control at entry points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in process.
  • Control vehicle access by checking driver credentials, verifying shipment paperwork, and coordinating with onsite contacts for entry approval and yard routing.
  • Operate visitor management processes by issuing temporary badges, documenting entries and exits, and maintaining accurate logs according to site requirements.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility interior and perimeter, including entrances, docks, trailer areas, and parking areas, as required by the post assignment.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, gates, and access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and support site policy compliance.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, suspicious activity, and policy violations using required reporting tools and procedures.
  • Support loading dock and gate operations by assisting with traffic flow, staging directions, and communication with warehouse staff as authorized.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal leadership, site contacts, and local authorities as needed, and participate in shift briefings and pass-downs.
  • Maintain a professional presence while enforcing site rules consistently and courteously, escalating concerns through the chain of command when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
