Job Description




As a Security Officer - Industrial Access Control in North Jackson, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will manage access control by greeting employees, contractors, and visitors, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and tracking entries and exits. You will conduct routine rounds, document security-related activity, and communicate concerns promptly to site leadership. With an agile, reliable, and innovative team and a caring culture that puts people first, you will deliver through teamwork and act with integrity every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry and exit points for a manufacturing location by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials and directing visitors to the appropriate areas.
  • Monitor and help to maintain access control for employees, contractors, deliveries and vendors, following location procedures for sign-in, badging and escort requirements.
  • Operate and monitor access control systems, cameras and/or alarm systems, and report irregular activity according to post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas and the perimeter, noting hazards, unsecured doors and unusual conditions.
  • Screen incoming and outgoing vehicle traffic at gates and/or docks, verify shipping and receiving documentation as required and communicate with onsite contacts to confirm authorization.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching assistance, providing directions and supporting incident response procedures.
  • Write detailed daily activity reports and incident reports, documenting observations, access activity, policy violations and actions taken.
  • Coordinate with onsite management and Allied Universal leadership regarding access issues, visitor exceptions, work orders and policy updates.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to employees and visitors while maintaining a professional presence and following customer service expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
