Job Description




As a Security Officer - Office Tower Patrol in Norwalk, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet tenants and visitors, respond to questions and concerns, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout commercial office buildings, common areas, parking areas, loading and service areas, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access points by monitoring entry and exit, verifying authorization, and directing visitors to the appropriate destination according to site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other building systems as assigned, and report unusual activity to the appropriate contact.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, disturbances, and/or property issues, and request assistance as needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and maintenance concerns in written reports and/or electronic activity logs, and notify property management and/or Allied Universal supervision per post orders.
  • Complete routine checks of doors, gates, stairwells, and other designated areas to help identify unsecured conditions, hazards, and/or policy violations, and report findings.
  • Provide escort assistance for visitors, employees, and/or contractors when requested, including after-hours escorts to parking areas, in line with site guidelines.
  • Support emergency procedures by assisting with evacuations, directing occupants to assembly points, and coordinating with responding emergency services as appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional presence, follow all post orders, and communicate clearly with property staff, Allied Universal leadership, and responding public agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
