Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Intake Screener in Memphis, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location as a Screener, helping welcome staff, patients, and visitors while supporting access control and security-related screening at key entry points. You will stay visible, communicate with professionalism, and help identify potential concerns early, coordinating with hospital teams as needed, including in sensitive areas. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct entrance screening activities, such as verifying approved access points, observing for prohibited items, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in areas based on site procedures.
  • Support visitor management by confirming identification and/or appointment information as directed, issuing access credentials when required, and routing guests to the correct department.
  • Monitor and control access through designated screening areas, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items from entering the facility.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services per post orders.
  • Operate screening and access control equipment as assigned, such as walk-through detection, hand-held wands, and/or X-ray systems, and report equipment issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entrances, lobbies, waiting areas, parking areas, and the perimeter as assigned, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns according to policy.
  • Complete accurate reports, logs, and incident documentation, and communicate key information during shift turnovers to maintain continuity of security-related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Hospital: Vaccines is required.
  • - Hospital: Morgue is required.
  • - Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • - Be 21+ years of age.
  • - Hospital: Restrain Individuals is required.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
