Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to create hyper-realistic virtual worlds that redefine how factory layouts are designed and maintained. At ABB Pinetops, we're seeking a Digital Twin Specialist who will revolutionize the way equipment and people interact with their environment through cutting-edge digital twin technology and synthetic data generation. The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions Division in Pinetops, NC location. Main stakeholders are Industrialization, Continues Improvement, Facilities Management, Operations, Real-Estate, and HSE .

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Developing and implementing digital twin models for 2D/3D factory layouts, including MEP systems.

  • Integrating realtime data streams into digital twin environments for predictive analytics.

  • Using Autodesk ACC, Revit, AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, Recap, Tandem, Collaborate, and FDU to build coordinated digital models.

  • Simulating factory workflows using FlexSim and related tools.

  • Generating synthetic datasets for AI/ML applications.

  • Optimizing performance and scalability of digital twin environments.

  • Collaborating with engineering, IT/OT, operations, and automation teams to align digital workflows.

  • Supporting layout reviews, commissioning planning, and operational digital twin updates.

  • Contributing to digital factory roadmap.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Computer Science) or related technical field.

  • Master's degree preferred in Digital Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, or digital transformation. 3+ years hands-on experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and related platforms.

  • Experience with factory layout design, process optimization, and simulation modeling and other simulation tools (AnyLogic, Arena, Plant Simulation).

  • Advanced analytics: Power BI, Tableau, Grafana.

  • Experience with: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk Tandem, Autodesk Revit, FlexSim (Simulation Software), Autodesk Forge Design Automation (FDU), Autodesk Collaborate.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
