The University of Arizona's College of Computer Science invites you to apply for the role of Research Data Support Specialist II. The incumbent will be working on research related to Computer Vision models. Specifically, the research aims to study weaknesses of the models when deployed in the real world. Such weaknesses include false prediction and biased inference on complex user data. The goal is to identify the weaknesses and propose solutions to upgrade the model and data collection pipeline for more robust real-world application.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in managing data for research projects:

  • Collect data and produce labels/memos of data for easy on-boarding and project continuity.
  • Review and consolidate data into secure database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Assist in locating and restoring missing data.

Assist in analyzing data for research projects:

  • Identify and apply appropriate statistical/mathematical methods on data.
  • Produce reports and justifications of data analysis results.
  • Produce visual representations to highlight the significance of findings from data analysis.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data visualization, which is a key skill for building presentations and reports from the analysis.
