Job Summary Design and install systems that will allow the company to measure, monitor, and control the flow of gas at company facilities and provide support to Operations in the maintenance of those facilities. Drive operational excellence and standardization through continuous improvement efforts and effective partnerships across NiSource. Ensure that work is in accordance with all applicable company and regulatory requirements while ensuring safe, reliable service to customers in an efficient and economical manner.
Position requires residence within 50 miles of Washington, PA; relocation required if not currently local.

Essential Functions
- Design small scale gas measurement, monitoring, control, and field SCADA systems in conformance with Company Standards, AGA/API codes, field conditions, and within budget constraints.
- Prepare costs estimates and purchase equipment for measurement, monitoring, and control applications.
- Manage small to medium scale field SCADA construction projects - coordinate with outside contractors, company employees, and customers.
- Implement strategies to replace obsolete equipment and upgrade stations/equipment to meet company and governing body standards
- Configure and operate various types of electronic equipment; EFC, RTU, Transmitter, telecommunications equipment, test equipment....
- Test and evaluate new measurement, monitoring, control, and telecommunications equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to Field Operations problems during and after normal working hours.
- Implement best practice opportunities.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports as required by the department or regulatory agencies.
- Maintain customer-focused working relationships with Operations and Engineering partners , actively seeking and incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders.
- Align individual objectives with department goals and projects to ensure that corporate needs and objectives are met, including cost impacts and alternatives to meet budgetary constraints
- Attend schools and conferences relating to functions performed by the department; RTU programming, instrumentation, measurement, control, telecommunications, and job specific equipment utilized by the company.
Required Qualifications For Position Instrumentation & Control Engineer 1
- Graduate from a four year ABET accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering program OR four year ABET accredited program with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology
- 1+ years of relevant job experience in related field.
- Good understanding of AC and DC electricity
- Good understanding and ability to use various electronic test equipment
- Proficient in the use of computers
- Good working knowledge of standard PC software
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
- Strong technical knowledge in measurement, pressure regulation, control, and telecommunications
- Experienced in working with various telecommunications technologies (radio, telephone, cellular, satellite)
- Experienced in leading teams
- Experienced in data gathering & analysis
- Good working knowledge of gas measurement principals and AGA guidelines
- Experienced in the application of the National Electrical Code

Salary Range*: $69,900.00 - $170,300.00
