Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Team Leader position will be in our Wichita Falls, Texas facility and will support manufacturing through production control, problem solving initiatives, and assume an indirect responsibility for product throughput partnering with the department supervisor.
This involves the leadership of hourly employees in the department cultivating desired outcomes in terms of safety, quality, process integrity, team assignments, related administrative work and other assigned tasks designed with a keen eye on minimizing production bottlenecks and anticipating production needs.

Job Roles:

* Safety - Understands Howmet's commitment to safety but demonstrating expectations, participating in 5-minute meetings and Pre-Task Briefs, holds the team accountable to safe working conditions, reports all non-conformance to supervisors, trains and educates team on safe work standards, and follows all EHS guidelines. Maintains a safety-first mindset.
* Leadership-Champion of accountability and safety, acting as the frontline bridge between the Supervisor and production team to ensure operational standards are met. Provides mentorship where appropriate and keeps both the team and management informed of any potential impact on production.
* Optimizer-Under the guidance of the Supervisor, drives maximum throughput by pinpointing production bottlenecks, in real-time and balancing workloads across stations to eliminate idle time. Seeks to understand KPI metrics and adjusts workload/workflow to meet target benchmarks consistently. looks ahead to minimize potential issues and maximize advantages; prepares others for what comes next
* Operator - Working knowledge of all non-certified operations in department. Follows AI's, maintains productivity, and fills in where assigned.
* Influence-Through knowledge, relationships, and data the Team Leader will leverage perspectives to persuade, educate and navigate company AI's and gain buy in with hourly employees to leverage efficiency and throughput in the department.
* Data informed--focused on things that drive quantifiable business outcomes; evaluates based on quantitative feedback; knows and explains the "why" behind actions.
* Prioritized reaction--handles the unexpected without losing sight of important objectives; reacts where greatest leverage points exist
* Relationship--connects individually and with the team; builds rapport and commonality; creates a "win together" ethic; serves as liaison between hourly team members and the supervisor; keeps the pulse of the team; helps people feel heard

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Creates a plan of assigned tasks/role for the team placing them in into roles that seek to maximize production in coordination with their trained skills and abilities. Coordinates with leadership,
* Seeks to maximize throughput by anticipating bottle necks to production and communicating with the supervisor and management to eliminate bottlenecks.
* Supports activities identified by the team related to safety, process, part, quality, and production.
* Seeks and participates in team, and self-development, opportunities including new hire training.
* Works on assigned tasks and projects to meet departmental goals
* Assist Supervisor with daily administrative work as assigned
* Prepares, and leads 5-minute meetings and Pre-Task Briefs as assigned
* Assists with quality investigations, as directed.
* Communicates with Supervisor regularly regarding safety, production, personnel, quality, and requested/required information.
* Actively pursues elimination of waste through coaching, technique, training and skill-based feedback.
* Must comply with all company attendance policies and procedures which include but are not limited to regular attendance and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
* Minimum 1 year of leadership experience
* This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Associate or Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business or related field
* 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year working in a similar capacity. (Prior Aerospace Manufacturing Preferred)
* Proven leadership ability.
* Knowledge of MS Office.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific methods for problem solving.
