Job Title: Packaging Engineers

Location(s): Palo Alto, CA
(Remote with U.S. travel)

Role Overview
The client is seeking three Packaging Engineers to support compliance with the EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) effective August 12, 2026. The role focuses on packaging data collection, supplier coordination, documentation management, and verification that all EU-bound packaging meets regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Compliance

  • Compile product and packaging inventories across multiple business lines.
  • Collect material data and compliance documentation from suppliers.
  • Verify packaging materials for restricted substances.
  • Ensure alignment with EU PPWR and related regulatory requirements.
Supplier & Site Engagement
  • Work directly with suppliers to communicate packaging requirements.
  • Represent the client during supplier and manufacturing site interactions.
  • Travel to supplier and manufacturing sites to verify packaging compliance
Packaging Engineering
  • Design and modify product-specific packaging for global shipment.
  • Select packaging materials in compliance with regulatory and transport needs.
  • Plan and execute packaging tests
Systems & Documentation
  • Enter, maintain, and audit packaging documentation in SAP and PLM systems.
  • Prepare and manage compliance records using Microsoft Office and Adobe tools
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Packaging, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2+ years of professional experience (no new graduates).
  • Manufacturing environment experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Direct experience working with supplier vendors.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of EU regulations (PPWR, RoHS, EU Machinery Directive/Regulation).
  • Sustainability and circularity experience in packaging or logistics.
  • NX / Teamcenter or other CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Pro/E).
  • SAP experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with large-scale or industrial packaging.
  • Basic welding or welding symbol knowledge
Travel & Location Requirements
  • This role is remote but not fully work-from-home.
Preferred proximity (within ~1-2 hours driving distance):
  • Seattle / Issaquah, WA.
  • Chicago / Hoffman Estates, IL.
  • Knoxville, TN

Secondary locations:

  • Austin, TX.
  • San Jose / Palo Alto, CA.
  • Travel is U.S.-only.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
Work Schedule
  • Standard business hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
