Job Description




As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Driver in Luckey, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will complete routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control while delivering strong customer service. This is a driving post, so you will use a company vehicle to cover the property and respond to needs across the site. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the distribution and retail support location, including interior areas, exterior perimeter, parking areas, and yard as assigned.
  • Control access at designated entrances by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing visitors, vendors, and contractors to appropriate check-in locations.
  • Monitor truck and trailer activity at gates and/or yard areas by logging arrivals and departures, checking seals when assigned, and communicating irregularities to site leadership.
  • Observe for and report unauthorized persons, suspicious behavior, and/or unusual conditions that may impact security-related operations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, and/or disruptive behavior, and coordinate with local responders when directed.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, docks, emergency exits, and key areas for signs of tampering and/or unauthorized access, and report concerns through the established chain of communication.
  • Operate CCTV, alarm systems, radios, and/or other site technology as assigned, and notify appropriate personnel of security-related events.
  • Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift documentation with clear, accurate details.
  • Provide guidance to employees and visitors regarding site rules, traffic flow, and restricted areas, helping to deter policy violations through presence and communication.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
