Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex - Manufacturing Site in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will conduct routine patrols and be a visible presence that helps to reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license in the job state, supporting mobile patrol coverage and quick response. You will deliver strong customer service, clear communication, and accurate reporting while living Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a manufacturing and industrial location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, shipping and receiving zones, offices, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing deliveries to designated areas per site procedures.
  • Monitor alarms, CCTV, and other security-related systems when assigned, and report irregular conditions per post orders.
  • Perform routine inspections of doors, gates, docks, and critical areas, and report maintenance or security-related concerns to the appropriate contact.
  • Provide customer service through clear communication with employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors, including providing directions and answering questions.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation with accurate, timely details.
  • Support site emergency procedures such as evacuation, severe weather, and medical response by providing guidance, coordinating with responders, and controlling access as directed.
  • Follow Allied Universal policies and post orders, including participating in required briefings and training, and maintaining a professional presence at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
