Job Description




As a Security Officer - Warehouse Gate Control in Laredo, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, supporting access control and front-line security-related operations. You will greet drivers and employees, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in and badge processes, and monitor entry points and cameras while staying visible and customer focused. You will document activity, communicate concerns to site leadership, and respond to incidents with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach in an agile, reliable, innovative culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entrances and vehicle gates by checking identification, verifying appointments, and directing traffic flow to appropriate docks, yards, and/or staging areas.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound screening of vehicles, trailers, and/or shipments as required by post orders, including documenting seal numbers, trailer numbers, and pickup or delivery details.
  • Maintain visitor, contractor, and vendor logs, issue temporary badges when authorized, and collect badges upon departure.
  • Operate access control systems such as key control, badge readers, and/or intercoms, and escalate access issues to site leadership per protocol.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal points of contact and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including dock areas, parking areas, and yard gates, noting unusual activity and reporting concerns.
  • Monitor cameras, alarm panels, and/or intrusion alerts when assigned, and document observed activity according to site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports for incidents, access denials, unusual conditions, and/or policy violations, and communicate relevant information during shift turnover.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by coordinating entry and exit procedures, managing driver check-in and check-out, and maintaining orderly queuing in designated areas.
  • Follow Allied Universal and site-specific communication protocols, including use of radios, phones, and/or dispatch systems to relay status updates and request assistance.
  • Participate in drills and training as directed, and assist with crowd control and/or traffic management during peak delivery times, emergencies, and special situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Speak, read, and write fluent Spanish.
  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Have a state, county, or city issued security license, preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
