Job Description




As a Security Officer - Truck Gate in Shippensburg, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will help manage entry points, check credentials, support visitor and vendor check-in, and monitor assigned areas for security-related concerns. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to on-site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification, issuing temporary credentials as directed, verifying appointments, and maintaining visitor, contractor, and delivery logs.
  • Support a professional check-in and check-out process for employees, vendors, and truck drivers, including directing traffic flow to designated docks, staging areas, and parking locations.
  • Monitor and help to manage access to restricted areas within an industrial location by confirming authorization and escalating concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and Allied Universal supervision as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, and the perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and potential hazards, then report findings per procedure.
  • Operate access control and monitoring tools such as badge readers, cameras, intercoms, and alarm panels in accordance with training and site instructions.
  • Complete detailed written reports and activity logs, including access denials, unusual occurrences, and incident documentation, following site and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Coordinate with operations staff regarding shift changes, scheduled maintenance, and high-volume shipping and receiving periods to support orderly access control.
  • Maintain a visible presence at entrances and key points to help to discourage unauthorized entry and/or policy violations while providing clear directions and assistance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
