Custodial Assistant - GBDC

Position Summary:

The Custodial Assistant's primary responsibility is to maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse facility and custodial duties as requested by the Warehouse and Distribution Center Manager, as well as ensure that the building is free of garbage and cardboard. In addition, the Custodial Assistant will keep a running inventory of all cleaning supplies and submit purchasing requests when supplies are running low.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)

65% Perform general cleaning duties such as cleaning/wiping down specific areas, sweeping, restocking bathrooms, and emptying trash bins.

20% Material handling such as finding materials or equipment and placing them where they need to go.

10% Keeps cleaning supply closet and other areas neat and organized.

10% Helping with weather permitted maintenance such as light snow removal and salting.

5% Replenish water as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have any supervisory duties.

Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma required

Special Requirements:

* Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Location: Fulton, NY

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment with a focus on meeting deadlines.

Equipment Used:

Hand tools, Forklift, Pallet jack and Floor Cleaner

Safety: Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, Gloves, Respirator and Mask

Physical and Mental Requirements:

* Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.

* High mental and visual attention required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product.

* Exerts in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Environmental Conditions:

The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions including temperature changes, noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, dust, garbage and moving mechanical parts.
