About the Opportunity

Sales Engineers at EnergyHub operate at the intersection of our client-facing and internal teams, enabling solutions that sit between market demands and product capabilities. This Senior Sales Engineering role will become an expert in the advancing world of distributed energy resources (DERs), combining technical and business acumen to design solutions involving the dynamic control of electric vehicle charging, smart thermostats, stationary batteries, and other connected devices to deliver value to utility clients. You will also hone client-facing sales skills while serving as the liaison to your colleagues in product, business development, and program delivery -- ensuring the development of cross-functional knowledge and expertise.

In short -- you'll play a central role between Technical, Product, and Go-to-Market teams in support of EnergyHub's growth and success.

Main Responsibilities



  • Convey the of EnergyHub's platform, services, and program offerings to clients and prospects
  • Conduct client discovery, provide software demos, and engage with prospective client decision-makers in support of EnergyHub's Sales processes
  • Become a technical authority on EnergyHub's software platform and program offerings
  • Assess customer business requirements and key pain points, and work closely with the Product team to design solutions that deliver compelling ROI
  • Work closely with EnergyHub's product and marketing teams to ensure that EnergyHub is delivering the right message to the market
  • Facilitate customer feedback so that EnergyHub's Product teams can inform roadmaps
  • Serve as the technical expert during the sales process, from initial discovery and product evaluation through contract negotiation
  • Play a supporting role in the RFP process, helping provide content in support of unique requirements
  • Coordinate post-close handoff to the Implementation and Client Success teams
  • Other duties as assigned


Key Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience in technical, enterprise software sales, product management, or related fields
  • Energy industry preferred, particularly demand side management
  • Experience with requirements management tools and processes
  • Exceptional communication and project management
  • Experience with platform integrations, APIs, data transfers preferred
  • Ability to travel for client visits, prospect demos, industry conferences, etc.

The base salary range of this opportunity is listed below and is determined within a range based on factors including qualifications, location and experience. This allows opportunity for growth and development within the role. The base salary offered is part of a total compensation package.
