| Essential Job Duties |
Reporting to the Executive Director of Arts NC State & Associate Dean, University College, the NC State
LIVE Director leads NC State
LIVE, the university's professional performing arts presenter, with responsibility for:
Curating programming aligned with the new vision for Arts NC State (60%)
- Researching, curating, and managing professional performing arts programming in alignment with the mission and vision of Arts NC State
- Working within the vision of Arts NC State to uplift the arts both internally at NC State and externally to the campus, and greater community
- Collaborating with academic and student affairs departments to integrate the professional performing arts programming with the curricula of the university and to serve the developmental needs of students
- Contribute to the development of artist residencies that encompass research and/or educational activities in collaboration with staff/faculty/students and on and off-campus partners
- Approve final decisions on artists, itineraries, and contracts
Daily Operations (30%)
- Operation management of NC State LIVE, ensuring the unit meets administrative requirements and deadlines
- Ensuring annual operational needs are met through allocated budgets
- Develop relationships with vendors/artists/agents to curate the performance season and ensure compliance and processes are met
- Advocacy and outreach both on campus and in the Triangle community
- Serve as Primary Investigator on grants to local, state, and federal agencies and foundations
- Supervise an Associate Director, NC State LIVE, Program Coordinator, NC State LIVE, and student employees
Strategic Planning (10%)
- Long and short-range planning and assessment in alignment with Arts NC State vision
- Fundraising (corporate sponsorships and private) and individual donor cultivation
- Assist in the development of ticket sales and marketing campaigns
- Serve on appropriate boards and participate in relevant professional development conferences locally and nationally

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Masters degree in an appropriate discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of related professional experience.
|
| Other Required Qualifications |
Minimum of five years (5) of demonstrated professional experience including:
- Curating and planning innovative professional performing arts programming both artistically and financially
- Managing resources across a complex budget with multiple funding sources including allocated, revenue, and contributed funds
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, administrators, sponsors/funding agencies, agents/managers, artists, and community partners
- Successful fundraising and grant-writing experience
- Overall knowledge of the performing arts and awareness of contemporary trends
- Demonstrated success as a creative problem-solver
- Previous experience in a supervisory/management position

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in arts administration and management within higher education institutions, including interdisciplinary and cross-unit partnerships
- Familiarity with higher education policies, and processes, including contracting, grants, budgeting, funding sources, and venue operations
- Experience working with North Carolina artists and facilitating artist residencies
- Demonstrated experience producing arts festivals, conferences, or symposiums, including arts-integrated research programming with campus and community partners
- Experience supporting donor engagement, including donor events and cultivation activities
- Proficiency with arts-related operational tools, including Tickets.com ticketing software
