POSITION SUMMARY: Supervises the day to day operations of the warehouse, storage, transload site, and shipping and receiving department including warehouse, transload, facilities and logistics personnel. Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of items received either from customers or suppliers. Coordinates collectively with management to ensure safe, smooth, and consistent operation in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy management and customer requirements. May be responsible for multiple location/sites within designated geographic areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential Functions include but are not limited to: * Oversees the supervision and safety of Warehouse/ Transload Associates, Facilities Assistants, and other logistics support personnel including scheduling, work allocation, training, and problem resolution. * Responsible for scheduling work-shifts, meetings, performance reviews, training and coaching, records, documents, recommends and administers discipline as necessary. * Storage management - regulate storage space according to customer and Management requirements. * Maintains personnel structure and staffing levels to support daily activities in a safe, effective and efficient manner. * Interviews and recommends applicants for hire. * Monitors and evaluates performance of personnel at assigned site(s). * Works collaboratively with management to oversee the supervision of shipping & receiving/Logistics Scheduler and the hostler/shuttle/transport drivers to include work allocation, training, and problem resolution. (as applicable to each location) * May perform all or some of the tasks and responsibilities of the various personnel as needed for back-up support. * Participates in the oversight of the Health and Safety Program and ensures the ability of Warehouse/Transload Associates to safely operate material handling/transloading equipment to move products. * Develops crew leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew members. * Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish the site mission in a safe, productive and effective manner. * Provides appropriate equipment and stacking/handling to ensure the safe transport and storage of all products. * Ensures accuracy of receiving and shipping reports documents. * Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver and shipping reports. * Monitors the flow of paperwork from shipping and receiving for timely data entry/processing. * Oversees the movement of product from Receiving to the Warehouse/Storage/Transload site in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. * Ensures products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. * Oversees the FIFO rotation of inventories within the warehouse/storage/transload site. * Ensures the security and monitoring of the facility, equipment, and products. * Performs other related duties as required. * In their respective areas, maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, recommends best practices; reviews policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance. * Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude. * Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * High School Diploma or GED (required). * 2-4 year college degree/certification preferred. * 5 years of related experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience. * 5 years of supervisory experience. * Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered. * Familiarity with MS Office applications and internet (email). * Comfort using heavy industrial material handling equipment, and/or transload equipment, and office machinery. * Good oral and written communication skills. * Understanding of shipping regulations. * Leadership skills and the ability to foster a cooperative and collaborative work environment. * Displays maturity and assertiveness. * Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. * Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments. * Valid Drivers' License PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
