Procurement Department

The Procurement team is responsible for securing the material equipment Vantage's Data Centers require to function. The team leads these efforts from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, New Site Development, and Engineering along the way. Procurement also works closely with vendor partners to come up with a vertically integrated design, and we manage these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. Vantage is unique in that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process. Our internal team can align long-term operational sustainability with value engineering and cost metrics to deliver products aligned with corporate goals. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.

Position Description

This role will be based in: Denver, CO or Ashburn, VA and is in alignment with our flexible work policy. (3 days on site required, 2 days flexible).

In a Technology Procurement Analyst, Vantage is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to be an integral part of a team that manages IT material, licenses, maintenance, software, hardware, and corresponding supply chains. The Procurement Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's technological needs are met efficiently, cost effectively, and in alignment with business objectives. In this role, you will project to manage every aspect of the procurement and delivery process from start to finish. Daily tasks include writing RFP's, RFQ's and RFI's, negotiating deals and contracts with vendors, reviewing/managing equipment inventory levels, delivery tracking, building and maintaining complex project budgets, and entering/ reviewing POs for software and hardware orders.

As a Technology procurement analyst, you will be required to manage numerous projects on a global scale simultaneously. Regular collaboration and coordination will be required with our external supply chain partners and numerous internal teams such as IT, Automation, Construction Cost & Finance, Accounting, Construction, Operations, and Legal. Occasional travel to Vantage Data Center sites & Regions may also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously work with the IT Procurement Manager to provide needed assistance daily to ensure the department meets and exceeds its goals with the company.

  • Understand RFIs, RFQs and RFPs for the sourcing of IT equipment for software, hardware and IT services being used within the business

  • Coordinate with vendors on continuous quality improvement

  • Track renewal dates for software enterprise and support licensing and initiate discussions with different stakeholder to review budgetary allocations of the same

  • Assist in analyzing vendors quotes, change order and submittals

  • Learn and manage the financial software system to enter PO's, review invoices, track budgets, allocate equipment from purchase to the projects.

  • Support the Technology Procurement Manager and Finance/Accounting with invoicing issues

  • Drive project-level tasks and milestones assigned by the IT Procurement Manager

  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships

  • Help develop and maintain record keeping and reports for the business at a high level

  • Continue to work and help refine the procurement processes to make sure they are complying and efficient.

  • Work with compliance to maintain the department and vendors within recommended guidelines

  • Communicate with various stakeholders on the company's hardware/software need

  • Provide post-order support, such as providing orders updates and facilitating returns

  • Maintain and update inventory system of internal hardware while periodically conducting audits

  • Place re-stock orders with suppliers, as well as negotiate pricing

  • Assist with allocating hardware for projects

  • Communicate with internal teams about stock shortage and/or delays in the supply chain

  • Occasional scheduling and prepping hardware that needs to be delivered via courier

Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and operational requirements

  • Conduct market research to evaluate best pricing for hardware and software

  • Work with the Finance to ensure all purchases have appropriately been costed to a specific budget

  • Help coordinate the approval and release of the necessary equipment.

  • Negotiate best-landed price with primary and secondary vendors, as applicable.

  • Assist in the management and support of equipment inventory planning efforts and forecasting

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience, is required

  • 3 years + experience in procuring/purchasing with a focus on technology, software, hardware, and services. You are strongly encouraged to apply if you have less experience and strongly demonstratable skills

  • Data Center or industrial equipment experience is strongly preferred, but not essential

  • Experience with vendor and supplier contracts

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as enterprise resource planning (ERP) Systems

  • Aptitude to learn quickly and drive things to closure autonomously

  • Strong business acumen and strong commercial background.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $95,000 - $110,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
