Description
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our team. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance/quality control and completion of survey projects in Westwood's private development and public infrastructure markets. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and implementation of projects and monitors the operational effectiveness throughout.
- Serves as subject matter expert for survey related activities such as construction staking, topographic surveying, platting, legal description writing, boundary analysis, and legal principles.
- Works with the Project Manager to define project tasks, schedule and resource requirements.
- Works with Project Manager to evaluate project budget and analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, billing rates and utilization.
- Complies with and helps the enforcement of company standards, policies and procedures.
- Measured on engagement in the continual improvement process and formal knowledge transfer/lessons learned, engagement in the quality service/client feedback process including asking for feedback and following up on the feedback including documentation in the system, and the overall success of the project.
- Conduct team meetings with project team and evaluate and coordinate the project.
- Stays current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware and equipment.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to project team staff as needed.
- Responsible for quality control and quality assurance related to the survey activities on each project.
- Ensures division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
- Lead by example - display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Requirements
- Professional Survey License - Licensed in State of the office. Additional states preferred.
- Four-year degree preferred and 10-plus years of experience in a consulting business.
- Must have multi-discipline experience, and a strong understanding of commercial, residential, and public infrastructure markets and projects.
- Effective verbal communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Handle multiple priorities and projects well.
