Description
Assist with Technical supervision of nighttime and daytime sleep technologists. The Principal Technologist is also to perform all types of testing offered in the laboratory, to conduct and record studies according to the standards summarized by the AASM. Responsibilities also include assistance with quality assurance, education of sleep technologists and working with the sleep center director to ensure timely scoring and summary of tracings for physician interpretation, and to ensure patient safety. Major duties further include ensuring proper functioning of all equipment; designing protocols for special sleep studies; assisting in the operations of the Sleep Laboratory; backing up all polysomnographic patient recordings; providing technical support when the lab is conducting new protocols/procedures; calibration of laboratory equipment for quality control. Under direction of the Sleep Center Director and Sleep Lab Manager, collaborate on sleep lab quality improvement efforts, and coordinate with the Manager, Sleep Center Medical Director and other laboratory staff, including Administrative Assistant to ensure smooth operation of the Laboratory. Must be flexible to work at all UCLA Sleep Lab locations as needed for Laboratory operations. Qualifications
Polysomnography experience is required Demonstrated ability to score 30 second epochs is required Basic computer skills are required CPR Certification is required RPSGT certification is required Other licensures/registrations as required by state departments or other licensing/accreditation agencies Experience in sleep recording instrumentation and scoring techniques required. Comfort working with clinical research populations required Prior phlebotomy experience and certification preferred Required to work flexible hours including weekends, nights and/or days as patient scheduling indicates | |
