Position Summary

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for an Senior Acquisition Program Engineer supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate (AFLCMC/EB). This role provides senior-level acquisition and program management advisory support for ACAT I, II, and III programs in accordance with DoD and Department of the Air Force acquisition policy.

This is a full-time onsite position at Robins AFB, GA.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Conduct and support engineering and technical activities across material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production and deployment, and operations and support phases.

  • Perform requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, integration, verification and validation (V/V), transition planning, decision analysis, requirements management, risk management, interface management, and configuration management.

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain engineering and technical documentation supporting acquisition activities, including systems engineering plans, reviews, analyses, reports, briefings, and technical artifacts.

  • Plan, conduct, and support technical reviews, audits, and interchange meetings, including Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRAs), Reliability Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and associated entry/exit criteria.

  • Produce system and enterprise architectures to assess user needs, identify deficiencies, develop and evaluate alternatives, recommend solutions, and support implementation planning.

  • Translate DoD user requirements into system and subsystem requirements for design, development, testing, and evaluation.

  • Support Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) for aircraft, cruise missile, and weapon systems in compliance with DoDD 5000.01 and DoDI 5000.02, using Government-approved models and tools.

  • Perform engineering reviews, simulations, trade studies, and analyses addressing performance, cost, schedule, life cycle cost, reliability, maintainability, producibility, and risk.

  • Provide advisory (non-decision-making) support to weapon system source selection activities, including evaluation criteria development, proposal analysis, documentation preparation, and briefing support.

  • Develop, review, and integrate milestone review documentation, reports, and certifications in accordance with DoDI 5000.02 and Air Force supplements.

  • Support Foreign Military Sales (FMS) case management activities.

  • Prepare management reports and deliver technical presentations supporting planning, implementation, validation, and corrective actions.

  • Provide program and system engineering support across acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment, fielding, installation, and operational oversight activities.



Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS)
Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Relevant Discipline
Years of Experience: 20 years Relevant Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top Secret (SCI)
Education: Master of Science (MS) in a Relevant Discipline
Years of Experience: 15 years Relevant Experience

Technical Skills

  • DoD acquisition life cycle engineering from requirements analysis through system disposal

  • Weapon and armament systems engineering, including air-to-air and air-to-surface munitions, missiles, bombs, warheads, fuzes, seekers, sensors, countermeasures, and related support equipment

  • Systems engineering disciplines, including requirements management, architecture development, integration, verification and validation, configuration management, and risk management

  • Development and evaluation of engineering trade studies, simulations, and analyses addressing performance, cost, schedule, reliability, maintainability, and life-cycle impacts

  • Analyses of Alternatives (AoA) development and support using Government-approved models and methodologies

  • Engineering support for source selection activities, proposal analysis, and technical evaluation documentation

  • Preparation and review of DoD acquisition documentation, milestone artifacts, and technical reports

  • Engineering support for Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and international program efforts

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly through written reports, briefings, and presentations

  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Government stakeholders, integrated product teams (IPTs), and contractors

  • Ability to operate in an advisory role, providing objective technical recommendations without decision authority

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in support of engineering trade-offs and acquisition decisions

  • Professional judgment and discretion appropriate for Top Secret-level programs and environments
