Security Officer - Retail Roving Driver

As a Security Officer - Retail Roving Driver in Thousand Oaks, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to guest and tenant concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail common areas, corridors, entries, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter, adjusting to changing conditions at the location.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, and take appropriate actions to help reduce loss and help to deter unwanted behavior.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, disturbances, medical situations, and fire or intrusion alarms.
• Maintain a visible presence near storefronts, entrances, and high-traffic areas to support an orderly shopping environment.
• Perform access control tasks as assigned, including checking doors, monitoring delivery activity, and assisting with after-hours lockups and/or unlocks.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic systems with accurate details and timely updates.
• Communicate clearly with management, site contacts, and local emergency responders when needed, using radios, phones, and/or dispatch procedures.
• Support crowd management during peak shopping periods and special events by directing foot traffic and providing information to guests.
• Observe and report damaged property, malfunctioning equipment, and maintenance concerns through proper channels for follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
